Direct-to-Garment, or DTG printing, prints artwork directly onto the garment using specialized textile inks. Similar to a high-quality inkjet printer, DTG can reproduce detailed artwork, photographs, gradients, shading, and a wide range of colors without creating individual screens for each color.
DTG is an excellent choice for small quantities, detailed artwork, and full-color designs where traditional screen printing may require too much setup.
DTG is especially useful when your design contains:
Because DTG does not require a separate screen for every ink color, complex artwork can often be printed without the additional setup required for traditional screen printing.

DTG can reproduce highly detailed, multi-color artwork without limiting your design to a specific number of print colors.
Fine lines, small details, gradients, shadows, and photographic images can reproduce extremely well with properly prepared artwork.
Traditional screen printing becomes increasingly cost-effective as quantities rise. DTG requires less physical setup, making it a strong option for smaller quantities and short runs.
DTG inks are printed directly into the garment rather than applying a separate transfer layer. On compatible garments, this can produce a comfortable, soft print that becomes part of the fabric.
Need several different designs instead of 100 identical shirts? DTG makes changing artwork between prints much easier than traditional screen printing.

DTG may be the best choice if you need:
A small quantity of custom shirts
DTG can eliminate much of the setup associated with screen printing.
A photographic or highly detailed design
Artwork containing gradients, shading, textures, or many colors is particularly well suited for DTG.
Multiple different designs
DTG makes it easier to produce different artwork without creating a new set of screens for every design.
Full-color artwork on apparel
Complex artwork can often be reproduced without simplifying the design into a limited number of colors.
